Just about ready i think??

Well here it is guys im a proud owner of a 87 gn basically stock except for the bolt on's down below, but ive been saving money for a while beeing (stingy) the right word for me , and i just wanted to know how much do i really need to have a stage 2 block under my hood since im only planning to run constant 10/10.2's and it wont be a daily driver or should i go with my stock block and build it right with all the goodies, again it wont be a daily driver and im just planning to run very low tens all day. all your advice will be very well taken. thanx in advance guy's.

Well it looks like you have a good starter there, congratulations. For dipping into the tens the stock block is ok, for 10's all day you should get a stage block for some nice piece of mind.

Here's what I would do:
Run it for a while on the stocker with mods you can carry over to the next engine (fuel, exhaust, turbo, transmission, suspension)
Save your pennies for the TA aluminum block and heads since you are so close to them. That is one bad MUTHA

That and $10-12k and you will be rollin

unless your car weighs 3000 lbs, the stock block will not be adequate for constant low 10's (there are one or two out there, but very rare)

you will certainly need a Stage block or the TA aluminum to safely meet your goals (and about $15-20K)

just wondering WICKEDGN, does your GN have an upgraded fuel pump? might want to check to be safe. stock ones were barely adequate for a stock car's power level.

You will need more than a 307. You will need a double pumper eventually.
For the TA perf block do a search on posts by Nick Michale, he is the most knowledgeable on the subject
