How many 4.1 production guys do we have here? Any thoughts on the 1000's?

I picked up my 1000's today. They have 14 head bolt holes punched plus steam holes between cylinders. Did anyone fill the voids with RTV? How did they hold up? Also along the lines of 4.1 building did any of you just use stock main caps and studs? What cam and times?

Jesse,

What are plans or goals with the 4.1?

Being that it is a weaker block from jump and with a thinner deck surface I think keeping it in the 11.3 range and up is where I want to be. I would like to tickle the 10's a few times though! This stuff about line-boring without the heads makes me not want to do the caps. I still haven't seen very much evidence that putting the steel caps on helps a whole lot. Maybe someone has ran 10's for a long time with stock caps. I would love to hear about it!

Jesse,

I'd answer back if I knew but my motor is being built by Nick Micale. And I think were going to use 1000s but not sure. As u can see my motor has steel caps with a girdle so I can't answer that question either. Well good luck on your buildup and I'll be e-mailing u on that Max-effort chip u sold me with the 83lbs inj I'm sure cause I forgot what u told me the defaults were.
