They rotted because you had the mild steel version. ATR offered the whole exhaust system in stainless(which is what I had on all my TR's). I have a few things on my car that dont look so good anymore but my exhaust looks brand new.

Love the Pantera. What are you jamming to in the car in the first vid. I cant put my finger on it but it sounds familiar.

I ALWAYS leave my babyseat in the back when I go to the track. I think it makes the guys mad who tear out their back seats trying to shed weight to break into the 11's.

I like the Ultra Flows. Has a good tone to them, do not drone, and are pretty quiet. The Ultra Flows came on the ATR dual kit as an upgarde before the Pit Bulls were made.

My T even sounds even more loppy/throaty with the 218/218 Cam, Champion Irons, Ported stock headers and ATR crossover. Uncap the dump and it almost sounds like a BB.... I'd like to get a soundclip up, but the car is down for a few weeks getting the bumpers powdercoated...

I never really thought of my car as "chain saw" sounding. I guess I could capitalize on this fact now that you bring it up. I will drive my GN down to Home Depot and do guest appearances to promote chain saw sales.

You can bring yours down when they are promoting leaf blowers.

All kidding aside. On all 3 of the TR's I have owned they all had these mufflers at one time or another: Flowmasters, Magnaflow, Dynomax and Pitbulls. The video does not do the Pits any justice. I can tell you that hands down these are the best sounding mufflers on any of my TR's. Everyone has their own taste but those who have heard my car or any members car with Pitbulls will back me up.

Pitbulls don't sound like a chain saw. I'll do my best to post up another vid, make one anyway. I'll try to get to it Friday when I have a day off. I'll capture the idle and the car pulling away. They do sound great! Seeing as they are not made anymore, you can also look at the PYPES systems. I think hey may have sound clips on their web site. They make a great SS kit for the GN's.

As for the vids I posted, it wasn't a great camera sound wise.

yea i think you may have tried some mufflers from those companies, but I know you didn't try all of their mufflers. I hope to post up a video of my flowmaster single chambers with an 3.5" outlaw for a resonator so I can prove flowmaster still sounds the best.

i never ever have liked the idea of having a packing material inside my muffler. Where do I use packing material? In my car cabin and the trunk, and in my home theater speaking yes, but in the mufflers for my turbo car.....no.

I didnt try every make and model of every muffler company. MY PERSONAL taste is for the Pitbulls. Not everyone likes them. Just putting my 2 cents in.

That being said about packing: Pitbulls are straight thru design, unless I am mistaken Flowmasters are not. End of discussion. Turbo no likey back pressure....

I was just mentioning that you haven't tried all the mufflers, that was my only point. I hear you on personal taste though, for sure.

nope not the end of discussion, outlaw is the MORE straight through then any other company. It has NO perforated cores with hundreds of holes surrounding the inside core pipe which divert air upwards (not straight out) into packing material, then back down through the holes to exit straight out. Many people are deceiving with the word straight through, because I thought straight through meant straight through, not straight through hundreds of mini holes which divert air up in 360 degrees instead of simply straight out and then send that air through packing material, that isn't as straight through to me. the outlaw has no core what so ever, no packing material. 9/10 companies which make resonators or mufflers use perforated cores and packing material, the flowmaster outlaw doesn't use either. And is in fact the only company I found in the world that doesn't use the packing, a perforated core or a louvered core. this is a 24" long section 3.5" outlaw muffler, 5 simple 1/4" rings thats it, no packing material, no chambers, no perforated cores, nada. A real straight through design. click the thumbnail to see the picture, then click the picture in the new window to see it HUGE size.

well see how the exhaust flows when I'm done

Good info. I see your point.

Now how about we just race and see who sounds better and has less back flow.
