it increases voltage to the fuel pump without increasing voltage to the rest of the car (like other voltage boosters).

95? Really? I've been following the boards now for a year and a half and never heard it mentioned before. Are they in widespread use?

they are not typically used anymore for a couple reasons:
1) they're not cheap compared to other volt boosters
2) upgraded fuel pumps with a hotwire kit have taken their place

i believe they were initially designed as a means of getting additional pressure/volume from a stock fuel pump.

We use them mainly on Mustangs with some kind of forced induction setup on them. They work.. one of their big benefits is they keep the voltage constant at the pump. It varies a lot more than you think.. for example, your lights suck the voltage down at night, which lowers the voltage at the pump. The Boost-A-Pump solves that problem.

Its not the same as a hot wire kit. It can be setup to either come on under boost or run all the time. If you run it all the time, I think low 14vs is about as low as you can get the pump to go. I ran mine full time with an SX pump back in the day and when you turned the knob, you could hear the pump speed up.

Its a great product that just never caught on with the Buick guys, which is a shame. The Ford guys use them all the time. We have several cars with 2 intank pumps and a Boost-A-Pump making mid 600s to the wheels.

Lightbulb

It's a good product but also an expensive product.

I want one someday for my power window circuit.
