Lightbulb

Oil temps. on my car run 180 tops in the winter to 230 when run hard in the summer, usually 200 or so with the A/C on cruising on the highway at 72.

They make specific gauges for oil temp. and tranny temp. but the mechanical ones are similar if not exactly the same as a water temp. one.

However the gauge itself will say oil and transmission oil on them so you won't get confused.

I only run the stock cooler for oil, tranny cooler is on the X support one one car in front of the condensor/radiator, other car the tranny cooler is behind and stuck on the radiator, never measured those temps. however.

I used brass 1/2" NPT fittings to T my mechanical gauge into the oil cooler line near the filter B-9 Baldwin with V4 intercooler bracket.

Bulb is large on a mechanical gauge but fits right into the oil stream with this setup.

Fluid Temps...

I don't monitor my oil temp, but I do have a transmission temp gauge and auxiliary trans cooler. My trans temp normally runs 160 to 180 during normal city driving. In busy traffic or after spooling up the turbo a few times, it will climb to the 200 range. I have a electric sending unit tapped into a deep aluminum pan.
