Need cleaning suggestions!
Guy's
driving the T Type around today and ran over a plastic grocery bag...i look underneath at the gas station to find the bag melted on my brand new Pypes polished stainless steel exhaust(Yikes!) . it melted on the pipes and I'm unable to scrape it off with my nail. Gonna have to be air or electric then! I'd try getting one of those cheap 4 dollar paint/rust strippers to put on the end of your drill or grinder. If that doesn't work, a wire cup will for sure

Lacquer thinner ....But make sure is completly cooled. No need to be doing something with a power tool to hurt the polished finish.

I can only think of two ways: you can use a heat gun and melt it to a point where you'll be able to peel it off...or wait 'til it's cooled and use some lacquer thinner to soften it and eventually peel it off.

Use a damp rag with semichrome or other chrome polish while the exhaust is HOT. I have had to do that on the exhaust on my Harley a few times. Try it it works. Be careful not to burn yourself.

Lacquer Thinner
Well-Lacquer thinner did not work-didnt even phase this stuff...looks like it melted on the SS and is like hard carbon. The Lacquer thinner burned into the SS and now it looks worse-color wise...I'm going to try and air buffer and repolish the SS pipes.

To polish it out use never dull. It takes a while but it will give you a beautiful mirror finish. As far as remiving the bag get a soft wire wheel you can put on a drill and start stripping. It's a little harsh but it will come off without to mutch scratching.
