70mm TB - up pipe coupler size

Is the OD of the 70mm TB close enough to use a 3" ID hose to connect a 3" up pipe?

I currently have a stock TB and reducer w/ a 3" up pipe and am moving to a 70mm TB.

Thanks,
Jim

It's more like 3.15" A 3" silicone turbo hose "will" work, but it is a VERY tight fit. The Accufab 70mm TB also has a VERY short clamping area. I just had to grind the T-bolt clamp down just a bit to get it to fit between the lip and the lower area of the IAC boss. They could have made it .15 longer and would sure help things out. Also, I used a 3.25" hose to join the 3" up pipe to the larger than 3" Accufab TB.

As a side note........Be SURE to remove the throttle blade screws and re-install them with RED loctite. They have been known to come loose. I also stake the screws in place, too. I clamped a 10" long 3/4" shaft in the vise, and then placed the blade screw heads (one at a time) on the smooth shaft end. Then I used a center punch and taped it with a hammer to stake the center of the threaded end of the screw. That way they can NEVER fall out, even if the screws come loose a little. One of those little screws can really mess up your day.

Thanks for the info. I have some extra 3" hose laying around that I will try to make work. I'll be sure to loc-tite the screws, too.

Jim
