GN owners with Steadfast column lock...

Do you have pics of it installed on your car? I want to see how conspicuous it is. I know I have to get GPS and kill switch as well, just trying to decide between Steadfast or the Carguard...

I'll post a pic of the steadfast collar with a broken steering column for you tomorrow. If you go with the steadfast collar, get the one for tilt-steering, i think it extends a little further down the column. I survived 2 attempted thefts with them installed. One on a 1988 olds cutlass supreme and the other on the GN. It won't guarantee they won't get your car, but it will give you enough time to cut the Pitbulls lose and load up the .50 cal while they're whacking away on the column...

Really a cool part because it is always on the car. Even if you "just run in for a sec" it is on the car. I painted mine GN grey and I hardly even notice it now. One tip though, you may want to consider replacing your ignition tumbler with a new one or at least making a bunch of keys for your existing one. I would not want to have to take the thing off once installed!

Has anyone painted one of these the GN gray to match the rest of the column? I want to keep the original look of the car if I can.

the removable "collar guards" do not protect the most essential part of the column. Stick with the steadfast collar guard, very very good money spent. I've seen 10 or so columns layed on the floor at an el camino restorer's place, all victims kept their car, but the columns were trashed. Great security. Just watch out for the tow trucks
