Tapping Noise

I have a T&D Rocker setup with my roller cam (212/212) on an 87 GN motor. Someone told me that I would hear a little rocker noise when I switched to a roller cam and these rockers. It isn't very loud.
Here is a video of it

Fast forward to about 30 seconds in.

I was just curious if this is normal with our motors when switching to roller rockers or if they need to be adjusted. Thanks.

Can't really tell from the video. It's going to sound a bit like a sewing at idle machine, but proper adjustment of the rockers will help. You'll get used to it.

What preload did you use on the lifters?...when adjusting T&D's a full turn of the adjusting screw is .050...I always do 3/4 turn which is around .037...my motor with roller and T&D's is pretty quiet...

Put at least another 1/2 turn on your adjusters. Mine were pretty loud before I added more preload. It's down to a slight tick now and I'm at 1 full turn.

I think that .050 is too much preload. .025 to .035 is plenty.

I had a similar noise with my flat tappet cam using T&D's. In my case, it was too long of a set of pushrods. It caused my my adjusters to ride up high on the rockers, and that allowed the adjusters to contact the valve covers slightly, causing a noticeable tapping as you might imagine. Getting the correct pushrod length dialed in eliminated the problem. Counterman.
