Knock gauge reading orange in heavy accell and red on full throttle.....

Hey guys, like the titke says, Knock gauge reading two or 3 lights orange on heavy accell and red on full throttle from first on, but not if you full throttle it in 2nd or 3rd, just orange then, scanmaster has said on full throttle 1st and 2nd with knock gauge in red 9.8 degrees retard and 830 millivolts, and anywhere between .8 and 3.5 degrees retard and similar millivolts on orange readings. Has TT chip and most mods in sig. Could this be poor quality MN fuel? The fuel where I have filled it is 91 octane and 10 percent ethenol Any feedback on this would be great, Feels like it breaks up or hesitates a bit on heavy throttle, im assuming this is knock retard im feeling?? Im running the boost at 15-17 psi currently, Thanks, Ryan

Sounds like KR to me. You should try some higher octane fuel, lower boost, or less timing. If the problem goes away then you know it's real. Whatever you decide, don't keep running it like this. I know the ecm pulls timing to stop KR, but only after it starts so continued experimentation will lead to practice changing headgaskets at best. HTH. james

that sounds like knock to me. turn the boost down and see what happens. i have 91 octane down here as well and i can only run 14 or so without knock.
