Best Surface for RTV ?

what's the best surface for RTV . a mirror like machined surface or something a little more rough like a sandblasted surface ? can not find any real info on the topic . thanks .

I would say the machined surface because you can clean it well the sandlasted finish may have dirt or grease in it.

RTV will bond to either surface as long as its oil and grit free. Use Ultra-Black or Right Stuff for best results. I've never had a leak with either one of them.
