fuel pump question

My fuel pump stopped working on my 84 T. I checked all fuses and everything was ok so I tested it with a hot wire to the battery and it worked so I spliced it and strait wired it to the fuse block to come on when the key is turned on. It is a temporary fix but is this going to hurt anything?

Depends on the circuit you got it on. If the pump starts drawing the amps and it is not fused, you can run into some issues. Did you check the pump relay and the oil pressure switch?

Is there anyway to check the fuel relay with out just buying another one and replacing it? Also this may be a very dumb question but where does the oil pressure switch come into play? Thanks, Steve
