Unhappy hydro/power boost

I am confused. I have an 85 GN and I think it is equiped with the power boost system for the brakes. Is the hygro braking system just on the 84's. How do I tell the difference? I am having some problems with the brakes at this time and want to know if parts are available for the factory system or should I look into a vacuum system? Big problems like this always come up before a show. 24th 25th Pleasenton Fairgrounds The Goodguys show.
Turbo85 Thanks

Your 85 could have either the hydroboost or the Powermaster. The HB has two power steering hoses attached to it and the PM has two wire connectors and has an electric motor with no PS hoses attached. Parts are non-existant for the HB and there is almost nothing left but accumulators for the PM. If you are having problems the most cost effective way is to convert it to vacuum.

Post hydro/power brakes

Thanks for the info. It checks out that I have a powerboost system. If any other problems that I cannot fix I will check out the vacuum system. Turbo85

I just replaced my hydrobooster last summer due to it leaking power steering fluid. Got a remanufactured one at Advanced Auto for about $150 with a lifetime warranty. Here is a pic of a hydroboost system.

a powerboost system
I guess that is a hybrid, of the hydroboost and the powermaster? Does it use an electric motor for the power steering pump, or use power steering fluid to charge the accumulator? Kind of leads into hydrovac, which will at least dig a hole....

Thanks for the reply: I found out that it is a powermaster (electric motor powering the accumiculator. I never delt with this kind of unit; very different than vacuum. Turbo85
