Has anyone used this kit. I want to install it while I have the interior out replacing the ds floor pan. Its $160 and another $$80 to ship so I want to make sure its worth it before buying it. Are they any other alternatives? I am only gonna use 6 of the pts

I don't know much about JEGS, but I installed a S&W pro street rollbar a while back and it turned out great. I also only did the 6 point couldn't have been happier with the way it turned out. In saying this, you will have to do some cutting and notching of the bars, so just be prepared Here's the site for a weeee bit more information. www.swracecars.com

That's cheap. I pay over $8 a foot for the moly I use. The jegs kits require cutting and fitting but they all do so that's a moot point. It's worth the money for sure.

On the standard kit the front down bars are NOT bent to clear the door panels. I think you can call them and request them to be bent and I'm sure they'll charge you extra.

NHRA requires a bar at 12.00 for our cars

IHRA requires bar at 11.50 for our cars

I will have to check the cut off for a hoop.

NHRA

A roll bar is required in any convertible running 13.99 seconds or quicker in the quarter mile, and in other cars beginning at 11.99. The roll bar is accepted in vehicles running as quick as 10.00 second e.t., provided the stock firewall and floorboard is intact, other than for installation of wheel tubs. The rollbar must be constructed of minimum 1 ¾ inch o.d. x .118 inch wall mild steel tubing, or 1 ¾ x .083 chrome moly tubing.

If the floor and/or firewall has been modified, then a full roll cage is required beginning at a 10.99 e.t. A full roll cage is required in any vehicle running 9.99 seconds or quicker, and any vehicle running 135 mph or faster (regardless of e.t.). The roll cage must be constructed of minimum 1 5/8 o.d.x .118 mild steel tubing, or 1 5/8 x .083 chrome moly tubing.

IHRA I will see if someone has the rule book online. It does not appear that IHRA.com does.

Im pretty sure that NHRA bumped it to 11.49 as of Jan. 05, because of all the new cars that are capable of running 11's with little to no mods now. (ie z06's, and cobras)
