has anyone had an overboost condition with a new wg solenoid and a functioning wastegate with proper adjustment caused by a defective map /baro sensor?anyone have good tips in diagnosing this condition?

Ummm, nope. I can't imagine how a defective map sensor could cause such a condition. Unless it's somehow blumbed into the solenoid/wastegate plumbing (shouldn't be).

The most overlooked problem is not opening up the wastegate hole large enough on a new turbo's exhaust housing. Did you take the solenoid out of the loop? Loop the compressor housing to the actuator direct and see if it still over boosts. If so, your pullin that turbo off.........
