cam choices

My shortblock is complete except for cam. My 206 cam has a small rough looking spot on it so I'm replacing it. I have a set of big valve ported heads and a 52 turbo, forged pistons and billet caps,55# inj and powerstroke IC.
These are the 3 comp cams I am looking at.

#69-234-4 .425 lift-110 lobe sep(I was running this one)

#69-235-4 .456 lift-110 lobe sep

#69-248-4 .459 lift-112 lobe sep(recomended for turbo buick)

All flat tappet.

I would not use a flat tappet cam ever in a buick, check out the new comp cams ductile rollers on there website. Very easy to install and it will save your motor from when that flat tappet cam wipes in time! Just my opinion o them ( i have wiped 5 flat tappets before)

no choice

I don't have another $1,000 to spend on the cam. My bucket of $'s has bottomed out. The lobe wasn't wiped it just has a rough looking spot on it,looks like a couple of small nicks. Probably caused by metal from wiped bearings in bottom end.

comp

I was leaning to the 212 myself. Frank I noticed it is what you have in your motor as well. I have the $'s to buy the roller but my "slush fund" will be out and I still have a few more things I'll need. I'll "stew on it"till fri and order something then.

Will the 212 with .459 lift work with LT1 springs? Can I break it in with used stock springs or some used LT1 springs? What about the comp 980 springs? Will they work after the cam is broke in?

If you break it in with the stock springs then install some 95-105 lb. seat psi springs of your choice it will work fine. Frank
