pit bull alternative?

i have an ATR single shot exhaust that i really like the sound of. However, the drone gets really old on long trips. So, i would like to see if ther is another muffler that i could put in the place of my pitbull muffle that would quite it down a bit. but i dont really want to get rid of the system because i like the fact that it is stainless, and i dont want to have to spend the money on another stainless sytem. i also plan on installing a cutout so i can be real noisy when i want to be . thanks for any help.

Question muffler in place of catalityc??

I also have the ATR stainless steel'' Single Shot'' system and I've heard that you add another muffler in place of the catalytic converter...but I've never heard one or even seen such a setup, but I think that it makes some sense!..
Is there someone on this board who has done this and could give us a little info??

I put an Ultra-Flow where the PB went, and then put the PB where the cat would normally be.

I like it.

Bruce did you use the 4-1/2" x 9-3/4" ultraflow race muffler or the 6" X 16" round stainless ultraflow?

Thanks,
Don

4.5x9.75 sounds about right, it's not round.

Sometimes the exhaust tips with the resonator section built in reduce the sound just enough to take the "edge" off without adding any restriction. Cheaper than replacing other components in your system.

do you think i will see much improvement from simply replacing the pit bull with an ultra flow?

You probably won't have as many brain cells jarred loose from the drone!!

I went with the magnaflow duals, and the drone, while still there, is a lot less. I've even threw around the idea of putting the stock crossflow back on the car, and installing an electric cutout just after the cat for when I want to play
