charcoal canister

i am smelling fumes it seems like from the charcoal canister i have it mounted on the frame where the stock air box was can i remove this thing and cap off the line without problems

I took mine off and blocked off the vacuum lines going to it, works no different..

, the vehicle should draw out the fuel that accumulates in the canister , while you could disconnect and plug the canisters purge solenoid vac line you shouldnt block the other line , thats your tank vent , without vent your tank could pop when it expands (odds are the spring clmp rubber hose line connections down by the tank would seperate and leak out first ) also you are trying to pull fuel out of the tank , you need air to come in to replace the fuel going out (no air in no fuel out ) except what leaks past the rubber hose connections on the vent line and seeps past the gas cap seal.

change the filter at the bottom of the canister and make sure the solenoid is plugged in and the inline vac check valve is installed properly

charcoal canister

were you getting fumes too i just dont want to block it off and the pressure builds up inside the tank and has no where to go

do these canisters go bad sometimes and how often are you supposed to change the filters under it
