Question Who is using a TA49 with a 3200 stall converter?

I just installed a TA49 with a .63 Garrett housing and although my converter is ok with it, I was told a PI 3200 single disk lock up would be an awesome combo.

Who is using a PI 3200 single disk lockup with this turbo? Is it too quick to spool? Would a 3000 stall be better? I visit the track once a month.

Let me hear your stories as I want to order a 9.5 converter in the near future.

TIA!

Dannyo

Danny I have done it and it is awesome. That 49 will spool yesterday if you get what I'm saying. The 3200 also leaves lots of room for upgrading later.I went from a 49 to a 52 and now I have the 63 and they all worked great with mine.No complaints here. The only problem you might have is keeping radials from breaking loose at just about anytime you go WOT,even in street trim.

well i don't quite fit your criteria but im running a pte44 .63 housing with a 3200 stall 9/11 and wow its instantly spooled and its a blast on the street. Radials were useless so i run on 275/60 nittos and they actually hook well on the street. Like stated you can always upgrade turbos later as well.

Patrick any problems with traction at the drag strip with using the 3200? I currently use the ET streets.

It might be scary if I get caught in the rain though, huh?

I just installed a 10"/3,200 Pat's converter last weekend and it works great with my TA-49. No track experience with the converter yet.

Not really any problems at the strip with the right tires.I went to Kennedale one time on radials and leaving from idle I spun past half track before it hooked.ET streets are all I ran after that and they are ok on dry streets.I have been caught in the rain with them and anything past 10mph is way scary.I don't have any experience with drag radials,so i do not know how they act in the rain. You will have no driveability problems at part throttle. You would just have to be very selective of where, when, and under what conditions you go WOT.

BTW I did the 3200 vigilante back when my car was set up just like yours and dropped more than a few tenths in the 1/8.
