Question Fastest on Pump gas only??

How fast did you go on plain pump gas. No alky, no propane, no NOX.

Please list basic mods. I am trying to gather some info for a friend who has not bought a TR yet.

Happy New Year
Gary

With my mods below:
plus the test pipe (not listed), RA93 chip
minus the alky, shift kit, boost commander, adjustable wastegate, not even a scanmaster

1/8 was 8.7@79, 2.0 60ft

sorry no 1/4 times, but first day with alky and a bad 60ft (2.2), I did 8.5 in the 1/8 and 13.4 on the same run.

And here I was thinking you wanted to know what a relatively stock setup would run.

12.026, 111.00, 1.79 60', not all on the same pass. 86 TType, bone stock long block (heads, cam, intake, plenum all stock), RJC power plate (which I honestly don't believe helped any but at least didn't hurt :-)), 72 lb/hr Siemans injectors, CAS V2 front mount, ATR headers, THDP, PTE54 turbo, ATR dual 2.5" SS exhaust, Yank 10" converter, rebuilt trans, Nitto drag radials, hot wired fuel pump/160 thermostat/the usual little stuff like this, and my own chip, 23 psi boost in 3rd gear on Exxon 93 octane and a touch of retard, 2 deg at the 2-3 shift on the 12.026/110.85 pass. I've gone 12.15-12.35 and 110+ lots of times and the 111.00 with no retard at all anywhere. Oh, that's at 4060 lbs going down the track according to scales at three different tracks, give or take 40 lbs for differing amounts of gas in the tank. I've relocated the lt1 maf to the uppipe and switched to a GT67/Ptrim turbo but no times yet with new turbo and moving the maf didn't change the mph any so to me that says no real change in hp even though the boost went up a couple of psi - need more data on this.

Actually I am very interested in those setups as well. I do find it interesting though that most of the quicker people here have upgraded ICs. Seems an upgraded IC is one of the "key" components when using pump gas to turn lower numbers.

I have a TA-61, ported irons, 009s, external mount NOS fuel pump, 218/218, ATR DP, test pipe with dump, deltagate with in car control, STOCK IC, Art Carr Extreme Trans and 10" nl conv. Pretty sure at this point the "stock ic" is hurting me with the pump gas. Of course the car is a different animal with Race gas but this thread is not about Race Vs Pump....

GTech puts my car around 12.7 with this setup with 17-18 psi and no traction...

Thanks for all of the info guys. Anybody else want to chime in please do.

Happy New year
Gary

I think a front mount makes a big difference on pump gas.Helps lower intake charge temps considerably.Stretched stock location ICs are good too,but heat soak real quick on the street.I think the only reason to run fast on pump gas is to know you can do it all the time and a stocker wont let it happen IMHO.

No additives either. 16 lbs. of boost, Stock computer, 55's, Ported GN1's, 224 cam, Front Mount, 9 inch NU, 28x10 slicks. Drove it to and from the track with AC on jammin to Ted Nugent....

Involves better air flow management. So its an easy, with bigger cam, turbo, IC, exhuast etc.. open up the restriction, keep incoming air temps down, sure you can make power.

But it takes modifying the motor to really make things happen.

I hit 29 PSI on the highway today on 93 octane.. with a little adder stock everything cept turbo and Injectors.

Fastest pass I know off on a stock motor using 94 premium is 11.99 with like 4-6 degrees KR on the top.

11.83 @ 116, in daily driver mode on pump gas and radial TAs.. There was more there, but the track officals wanted a Rollbar in the car.
