there is 7 and 10 degree stuff for both, BTW there is only a 4 gram differnece by going to the Ti retainers since they are so small so in most cases that is not a good value. Just mentioned it becase someone posted about Ti earlier.

Yeah, I had thought about getting the Ti, but after holding the steel ones in my hand, I'm glad I didn't.

2 done, 10 to go.

Install height is right on the money at 1.825

Open pressure will be exactly at the spring specs... 377 @ 1.280

The 26918's that came off the heads i got from you are 150lbs@1.750 and 315lbs@ 1.200. The 16920's are 175lbs@1.840 (which is my installed height) and 375@1.290. Yours will be around 180lbs on the seat and over 400 at full lift. The 26918's were 105@1.940 inches for somewaht of a comparison. I also tested a set of 4 year old comp 941's and they were 135@1.75 and if i recall properly they were 370lbs @1.250. All tested on RPE's spring tester

With the 1.65's I had .584 lift.

I got rid of those and went back to a 1.55 rocker... for .548 lift.

That puts my open heights dead-on at 1.277-1.280-ish... approx .040-.050 away from coil bind.

Open pressure is 377 @ 1.280

I just finished the pass side... and install heights ranged from 1.820 - 1.830.

Looks like your gtg. Should be a whole different animal at 6000 rpm.

Done.

Just 'gotta throw the valve covers back on and drop the plugs in...

All install heights fell between 1.820-1.825... only one was 1.830.

I don't know WTF the guy was looking at when he built the heads... as the drivers side head had one extra .015 shim under all the springs... as if the pockets were .015 too deep.

My measurements showed otherwise. Both heads were damn near identical.

I used one .015 hardened shim under every spring and all my install heights were consistent... most within .005 of each other.

Not really...

It's together and running fine.

I drained all the pump gas out of the cell and blew out all the fuel lines so I could get the car back on straight race fuel.

I dumped 10 gallons of Sunoco 116 in it Friday afternoon, but haven't had time to beat on it.
I drove it around the block right after the beehive install and it sounds just fine.

I'll be taking it to Cecil next Saturday for the big Buick meet... so I'll know for sure how it runs then.

There's no transbrake in the car and the converter is a little too tight... so I'm not expecting anything spectacular. Once I get the TH400 in it, then it's game time.

Sorry I haven't updated this thread in awhile... but I wanted to get the trans swapped out before I started beating on the car again. I had a really good 200R4 and Vig converter that was too tight for my combo... so I wanted to get that stuff sold while it was still good and in one piece.

I now have a fresh transbrake'd TH400 and $900 PTC converter in the car... I also modified the stock shifter to work with the 3spd rev manual VB.

I'm still waiting for a driveshaft... and need to get the T-brake wired-up yet...

Once that's done, I will make an honest effort to get to a dragstrip before we have snow on the ground.

I sped read through it and don't remember if it was sugguested butI had the same problem and did everything and couldn't figure it out.. the car would just lay down like if it had a rev limiter or stopped pulling. Ended up being a loose ground - Go back to basics, check all your ground.
