Oil filter opener

Any one know who sells the tools to open up an oil filter. I've checked the usual places NAPA, Bennet. Or is it in a special catalog like McMaster?

Open up? as in cut in half? or to drain oil so it dont run down all over everything?

I hit the end with cordless drill and let most drain out before removing filter

"open up" so as to examine the filter paper to see if there is any metal particles present , cutting with a ginsu would defat that purpose

heres a link to the tool that cuts the head off

I have the Summit tool. It works very well. Opens up an oil filter like a can of soup.

I got a good size pipe cutter with the wheel and a vise at Home Depot for $20
I'll try it and see how it does.
