Can You Machine Off "o'' Ringed Gooves Off Of Cyl. Heads?

I have a chance to buy some GN1 heads that are used but have been machined for "O" rings. Can a person have the grooves resufaced off of the heads to use a conventional head gasket? Also will my TA shaft rocker work ok with the GN1 heads? I want to go to a rollor motor and dont feel like my "home ported" stock heads are worth setting up for a roller cam. I.e. step over a dime to pick up a nickle....

It depends, do they actually have wire in the heads or are they reciever
grooves for the 1007 Fel Pro?. Typically o'ring wire grooves are .030-.035
deep. If that's the case it would be better to weld the grooves up.If the
other then they should be .010-.012 deep and surfacing is not a problem.
The TA rockers could be modified to work with the champion heads.
