Wink Friday,it's ON!

I got my Buick fixed, and did a little tune up on it.It's running pretty good other than a funny idle.I'm racing my brother in his del sol at the track Friday night.I think I can beat him. This car feels a lot faster than I thought it would.Any suggestions on how to drive it at the track? My plan is to hold the gas and brake, but not give it enough to spin the tires, leave on green, and prey!Should I lower the pressure in the rear tires? They're brand new BF Goodrich radial TA's,245/60/15 is the size.Should I use race gas?I've got to beat a 16.72,wish me luck!

Gravitygal,
Do not lower the tire pressure in your radials, it may hurt rather than help. Check to make sure they are all properly inflated to ~32 PSI and you'll be OK. If you know your gonna be beating on it you may wanna go ahead and put a splash (couple gallons) of unleaded race gas in the tank, even if your car is stock. It will help prevent detonation inside the engine. If the car is mostly stock and running good, and you don't spin the tires too much after you release the brake, you should run in the 14's and make your bro go

let us know how you do! good luck!

As soon as his and your staged light are both on, like you said, powerbrake until it wants to "push" forward through the brakes and try to hold the accellerator there. Leave it in 3rd gear and release brake/floor it as soon as the last yellow light comes on. Then just hold on and don't let up! You'll do great.

hey!

Hey Babe! Im gonna make this simple as I can.Just build up 2 or 3 pounds using your factory boost guage, DONT GO OVER THAT OR YOU WILL SPIN LIKE CRAZY!!! Go to about half throttle until the car reaches about 10-15mph then put it on the floor!!! you shold be so far ahead by the end that it wont be funny then hes gonna be like ........well good luck on racing you can email me back if you want to @ smokinttype@yahoo.com have a good one babe
