help!!! first time to the track

I will be going to the local 1/8 mile dragstrip in September and it will be my first time as well. my combo is in my sig. and I have a test-pipe. The chip I use has about 18 degrees timing...race gas and 20lbs of boost? any hints in the lights? I have real street tires..225 60/15 comp t/a's...do I need drag radials?
Any tips are appreciated!!
Thanks,
Ben

How's it going Ben?

Run a chip with more timing in it, especially if you're going to be running race gas. Mine has 26 degrees. I'd use some Drag radials at the very least, if you want to launch with boost.

If you will be using an 18* chip, you can probably use 100UL or 104UL instead of leaded race gas. I use 100UL with a 23* chip and 22# of boost.

Drag racing is all about power and TRACTION so the stickier the tires the better.

Watch how things work at the staging lanes for a bit before you run. Going with an experienced buddy would also help. There is a drag racing write up here:

Good luck, have fun and be safe.
