How to repalce stock antenna

Anybody have any tips or info on how to remove and replace a stock 87 gn power antenna, thanks

Not to hijack......but i've been wondering the same thing. Got an NOS one to replace broken one(for 3 years).

sorry there is no "easy" answer. you about have to take the inner fender and the fender itself off..... some one here may have the link to gn t type .org's write up if the site is back up,or do a search here.....

keep the new mast clean (wd40) and keep the motor section full of lube so the inner plastic gear wont dry out and break....

Here you go... Power Antenna Repair

There is a proceedure, and a part number for the replacement cable. The number has changed, I know as I just inquired about one to replace on my car.


Good luck, let us know if you do it soon. I am in need of doing mine, but have other things to do first.
