Push button illumination lights out in 99 GM CD Player

Push button lights out on 99 GM CD Player
I just installed a 99 gm cd player in my Turbo T. The radio/cd player works/plays great & the green lcd lights that display the station your on, time, etc also work perfectly, BUT the lights that illuminate the push buttons are ALL OUT. I used the jumper harness that Jaysgn.com sells to hook it up & so I don't think it's a wiring issue, although there were 2 plugs that I couldn't find a place to plug in.

Tell me if I'm right, but is this harness designed to be able hook up a couple of different style gm cd players, thus some of the plugs are not used?

If it's a problem with bulbs, can they be replaced? If so, please tell me to go about doing that...

Thanks, The Darkside

Darkside,
I used the OEM GM harness for the '01 radio I put in mine and for both the Display and Buttons to light up I spliced the Dimmer and Illumination wires together from the plug to the leads from the dash harness. (The '98 + will be different for the lights than the older ones. Jays harness may be for the older ones). They will be F and G on the diagram (2nd one down) here: http://installdr.com/Harnesses/GM-Wiring.pdf (Adobe). The diagram shows that F isn't used but on the 98+ it is. If your harness doesn't have a lead for the F wire you'll need the GM one (p/n 16140054). See if that helps. Let me know if I can help with anything else.
Larry.
p.s. If your's has the AUX button you can use the factory 12 disc changer. Also check out http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48092 for more info and ERR codes for these radios.
