UM6 vs. UX1 Cassette

Is the cassette unit in the UM6 the same as in the UX1 factory radio.

I have read that the cassette is a separate module from the radio and can be changed out as a unit. I have a spare UM6 with working cassette and a UX1 (equalizer unit) that spits tapes back out. Can I use the UM6 unit in the UX1.
