Dash speakers - max height?

I've seen a few TR's with the dash chopped to allow for speakers to fit (too tall).

Anybody know what the max height is? Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Max height is basically the height of the speaker frame - the twweter cannot stick up any higher.

Or you can bend the 2 mounting tabs up and then back out to sink the 3.5" down into the dash some. I just did that on my GN, on some Fosgate 3.5s. Worked just fine. HTH
