Power Antenna Motors on EBay!?!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tego ry=33639

Anyone think these might actually be a more cost efficient way of replacing our power antenna that do not work? I need a new one, but don't want to pay GM prices, has anyone bought one yet?

Those are just universal power antennas. You stock GM power antenna can be easily fixed. Anyways I don't like they way the aftermarket antenna base fits.

FWIW & IMHO:
General Motors dealerships are using a "universal power antenna that has to be modified to work in our cars, due to unavailable alternative sources of OEM antenna assemblies. If your antenna motor runs, (if it runs you should be able to hear it running when activated), but the antenna will not go up or retract, it is a repairable condition. GM Direct has the part listed in their inventory, and I believe that it is about $ 20 including shipping. Part no. is 22038195, called a fix-it kit. Dealerships will generally not order, sell, or install it as they can't make any money doing that. My mechanic refused to install the "Universal Kit" one sold by the dealerships, advising quality issues.
