Did you use regular carpet, or is it something special?

That's my next project. Just curious, on what you used.

House carpet and 3/8 inch plywood.

I had some new carpet installed in my house and had some left over. I took some large paper and formed me some trunk patterns. I cut some plywood and stapled and glued the carpet to the backside of the plywood. For the sides and back of the trunk by the tail lights I cut me some patterns large enough to trim and tuck around the upper lip of the trunck area.To cover the spare tire I used some thick cardboard and cut a pattern and glued the carpet to it. The tail light screws and trunk latch keep the rear portion secure. Whole job took about 2 hours. I will get an aftermarket one down the road or get some custom embroidery on this one. I would like to custom make a piece for my trunk lid.
