Delco theftlock radio

okay.. Is anyone here an expert on how the Delco theftlock radio works?? I mean.. if a radio does not have the theftlock 'set' does thsi mean that there is NO code and the first time I disconnect the battery, a code will be set and render my radio useless?? Exactly how does one prevent a radio from locking out? HELP

You have to enter a code for the TheftLock to be activated. If the previous owner did this you will need to have the code for the radio to work, or go spend some money at a GM dealer to have it reset.
