I'm just glad those who got extras offered them to us instead of throwing them on ebay for the whole diecast world to bid on. I think that was cool of them and will gladly pay 250.00-300.00 for a 1 of 66 24karat gold turbo ta. It sure will look sweet sitting in the middle of my original 1/18 GMP GN & GNX cars!!!!!!!! Maybe they'll even make a a 24kGOLD GN someday!!!!!!

I definitely agree and am happy that a few members have said they will set aside some for people like me who arent always on the up and up as far as parts/collectibles coming out. It could be worse and they could all go up on ebay for the "masses" who have no interest or own these cars but rather just want something they can mark up the price to and then sell it to the "diehards" like us for a massive profit all the while they are not helping out our hobby one bit. These cars arent getting any newer but let me tell you they may never get the respect they deserve compared to a mustang or camaro but the feeling you have when you stomp a guy who paid big bucks for a z06 or new cobra is something that few things in life can rival. And we all know what those are

But isnt that whats happening here?
If not then why not buy just one insted of multiples unless your buying the extras with intent to resale for a profit.

Dont get me wrong, I wasnt expecting to pay just what the hoarders paid.
I know shipping, packing, and your time to get them then send them back out has to be worth something but not $100.

I've seen it time and time again. The gotta have it now crowd drives the prices up and later on when the new wares off and the next big thing comes out the prices come back down.It happens with white lightnings and treasure hunts all the time. I've been collecting diecast for over 10 years now and will eventually have one when someone gets out of the hobby or gets hard up for cash. I have rite now 7832 Trans Am's in my collection with no two alike so I have plenty to look at so I'll be patiant and wait. It just gets to me when a close group from a community like this insted of helping one another out insted tries to profit off each other.

I'm not singleing you out so please dont take it that way.
I was referring to the member who bought several for $140 and now wants $250 for them. I have no idea what you want for yours.

1. member buys several.
2. brings it to everyones attention by starting thred that there being made after he has his lot and there sold out.
3. offers to sell to members who missed out on buying one.
4.later after much interest is shown in getting one the price jumps up over $100 more than originally purchased for.

Thats just scalping, plain and simple.
Helping members out?

Seen it all before.

Geez you whine alot. After going back and reading all the posts in this thread I think you are being a bit unreasonable with these members who are offering they're extras to us.
I have pm'd both the member who started this thread (The Darkside) and member 2TURBOT about buying a couple of these rare 24k Gold TTA's.
I contacted both of these guys and they are both have been great to deal with. BOTH of them are selling these rare TTA's for the SAME price, so unlike you who continues to whine & refuse to pay what everyone else is willing to pay, I've got orders with both of these guys. The Darkside who started this thread clearly gave a heads up in his original post that these were selling out fast & if anyone wanted one they'd better call now. Not his fault you didn't get one. 2TURBOT posted that they were all gone too, but obviously took the time and did some internet searching and found several for sale somewhere, because he also has several to sell. I could have done the same, so could you have, but we didn't, so why whine about it?
I don't care how many they each bought. That's their business, they're money, not mine, not yours. I'm just glad they didn't throw them on ebay where they'd in all honesty they'd sell for over 300.00 easily.
Here's a news flash, they're 1 of 66 made. Of course there's going to be alot of interest shown and thus the market value will increase quickly. Is that their fault too? Absolutely not. Those of us who pay 250.00 or even 300.00 for one of these today will be able to watch the value continue to increase over the coming weeks, months, years. Maybe they'll end up being worth 500.00. If so and I want to sell it, do you think I should sell it for 250.00 or even 300.00 because I wouldn't want to upset anyone who missed out on them when they were only 250.00? No, I'll sell it for whatever someone is willing to pay. That's the way supply & demand works, these diecast are no different. They are only worth what someone is willing to pay. They're obviously not worth 250.00 to you, so don't buy one. I'll buy the one that could have been yours & be happy about it. Of course, if I were you, I'd quit complaining & try to buy one now before the prices go higher and they're maybe still willing to sell you one..

Sorry little man if it sounds like a whine to you but to me it's being taken advantage of.Too bad your too stupid to realise it.
I agree the value may go up due to the small production number of these but to increase the price on something you dont even have in hand yet and expect the aftermarket price to go up past your selling price is crazy.
Next time your bent over waiting on someone to stick it to you I would suggest asking for them to at least spit on it first or offer a reach around.

First of all NO24KGOLDTTAcollector, I'm not the one selling these cars, but I do have more than one on order. Also, from your statement above you must think that just because some of us are willing to pay what the market value has already increased to, than you're smarter than we are? Truth is, we just feel that these cars are going to be a very sought after collectible for years to come & don't mind paying what the market value is to add one to our collection.

Road Warrior

ps: As far as your your advice on the spitter & a reach around, we Buick guys don't care to hear about what you like to ask for. lol

Well, good news...... these Gold TTA's should be here in about 10 days!!! I want to thank everyone who has pm'd me regarding ordering one of these rare cars. They are going to be an awseome addition & definetly worthy of being the centerpiece in many of our diecast collections. I know I'm really looking forward to getting mine displayed, than stitting back & enjoy knowing I own 1 of only 66 of these in the world!!! I know in my beginng post I stated that these were 1 of 60, but I found out that 66 were actually produced. 60 were made available to the public & 6 went to some important people at Indy Motor Speedway. So that's kinda cool to know that we'll have something that the big wigs have displayed in their offices @ Indy..
Also, I found out that Greenlight won't be producing anymore 24k Gold cvars after this TTA. The cost of retooling the molds & the rising cost of gold make it too costly to produce. They actually have to take that original mold & retool where the doors, hood & trunk close because the 24k Gold plating is much thicker than the white paint and the doors, hood & trunk wouldn't close if they didn't retool it. Another reason that these 24k Gold TTA's will truly be a very rare & valuable diecast to own.
Anyways, Thanks again to all that have contacted me & put one one order, I'll be in touch again soon!!!

The Darkside

ps: Thanks also to 2TURBOT for also making his extra ones available here on the Buick Board...another cool guy to deal with
