rim question

Is there any decent size tire that can be used on a 8" rim with a 4.5 backspacing or it just won't work?????

Depends on the rim size.

Probably will need a spacer with the 4.5 BS if you are talking about a rim that is 15x8. It seems that the guys with larger rims can get away with a 4.5 BS though.

4.5" backspace is 4.5" backspace, it doesn't change whether it's an 8" rim or a larger one.

4.5"BS should fit, it'll just look a little "tucked in" since the wheels are only 8" wide, that only leaves 3.5" of wheel on the outer side of the flange.

I think the point he was making is that the section width on a 15x8 with a comparable size is wider than 17x8. and is more likely to rub.
