Thumbs up Line lock fitting with PART NUMBERS--install after proportion valve

Line lock/Roll control---HURST OR SUMMIT brand -INSTALLED after the BRASS PROPORTIONING VALVE (GM # 25509419 Approx. $80.00) My parts guy at GM said that GM had DISCONTINUED the Brass Proportion Valve as of 9/07…….

Here is a list of correct Edelmann fitting wih part numbers and price from O’Reilly’s auto parts store…if questions Edelmann has a web site--www.plews-edelmann.com.

Proportion valve to front brakes lines with “tee” and one 12” or 8” 3/16 brake line and 3’16” plug.
1-union ‘TEE” # 130333—$3.99---EDELMANN 3/16” inverted flared fitting
1-solid plug # 120300-------$2.00---EDELMANN 3/16” inverted flared fitting
1-12” or 8” brake line with 3/16” inverted flare fitting # BL 312 or BL 308--$2.49 or $2.39----AGS 3/16” brake line

From proportion to line lock with 12” or 8” 3/16” brake line and 3/16 fittings and 1/8” NPT plugs in line lock.
2-solid plug # 221200---$0.99 ( 2 @ $1.98) EDELMANN 1/8” NPT fitting (pipe thread )
2- male connector # 124320--$1.49 ( 2 @ 2.98) EDELMANN 1/8” NPT to 3/16” inverted flare fitting….OR 2 # 122320 that are 90*(elbows).
1- 12” or 8” brake line with 3/16” inverted flare fitting # BL 312 or BL 308--$2.49 or $2.39----AGS 3/16” brake line

We also went to AutoZone and rented/bought the double flare tool kit for $25.00….O’ by the way they have 2 kits---1 is SAE and 1 is METRIC…..so…we got both if needed. We will return both when we finish.
ALSO we picked-up 3 LARGE bottles of brake fluid to do the brake bleeding.

We will take pictures and give report on problem/success with this project in Ag. Shop class.
later

Is the tee fitting required?

Isn't there one line from the proportioning valve that runs to a tee fitting to divide the front brake line into two?

Or are there 2 separate lines running off of the proportioning valve that go to the front brake calipers?

Also I am installing a line lock and want to use adapters. My line lock uses 1/8 NPT fittings. What size fittings does the line (or lines) off the proportioning valve to the calipers use?

1. If you line lock has 2- OUTs...Then....you will NOT need a "T" for the front brake lines.
2.The proportioning valve has 2 ports for the front lines to the brakes.
3. 2- male connector # 124320--$1.49 ( 2 @ 2.98) EDELMANN 1/8” NPT to 3/16” inverted flare fitting….OR 2 # 122320 that are 90*(elbows).

Hope this helps.

I have another question....how much of a PITA was it to drill the holes to mount your line lock? It looks like you really have it up there in a tight area.

I take it the tee fitting you have shown is not secured? Is this something to not be concerned of?

I now see what you mean by the proportioning valve having two ports for the front brakes, and the need for a tee fitting:

There is a "factory hole" in that area----we made a plate to mount the lin-loc to the plate then drill a hole in the plate to mount to the "factory hole" in the frame.
The lines are "stable" to support the "t"---I guess you could make a plate to mount the "t" to, then mount the plate to the "p-Valve" but we have not had any problems with it "yet".
hope this helps
