Your car is laying down past the 1/8 mark. 1st pass you had +19 and the second was better +22. Figure what you did on the tuneup on that one.

Whats weird is that looking at the first slip you'd say with a better 60 foot from a 1.68 to a 1.55 it should have dropped the et by at least 1.5 seconds. And the second run you had a better 60 foot, higher 1/8 and 1/4 yet only improved by .05. And the finger pointing seems to be the 330 on the second run.

Hey 11.36 is nothing to sneeze at with a 49.. good job.

razor, good spot on the ticket!the tuneup was the same on all runs but on the 1st pass i layed the car down on the top by shuting the spray off around the 1100ft mark.i increased timing on the 1,2 just a hair and the 60ft dropped to 1.55 with wheelspin i did get the left hoop up on that pass which i have never done before.boost was at 22-23psi with the 35 shot,20 without afr was 10.5 on the wideband.best thing of all it didn't break

am I missing something here ? why run such low gears (4.11)...it is my understanding that this is a "no-no" with our cars. Seems most cars go faster with the stock gears...some do well with 3.73's and taller tire but haven't heard of anyone running 4.11's

Nice times, I'd ditch the 4.11's and 10.5 on the wideband and the top end will pick up even without the NX.

What RPM through the traps?

bob, i am turning less rpm than anyone with a 3.42 gear in their car as i am in od through the trapps.with a gear in the car the rpms raise much faster and with the right timing od becomes a gear you can use.i appreciate the compliment on the et and mph.

mike, my car has backhalfed 24+mph with the 411's and no spray but with a much hotter tune.the 10.5 afr was for safety and i agree that it's fat and i can lean it out, but at the same time i would prefer to take 1 step at a time.my goal is to dip into the tens and i want a 1.4X60ft my rpm's vary depending on if i lock the converter or not,and the timing i run.

If you lock the converter at WOT in 4th you'll probably need to billet out a ton of parts. Not many are shifting into 4th at WOT so talk to you local GN tranny guru for advice on that one. I'd think those in TSM/TSO would do it if it was worthwhile and you see a few TH400 trans.

I'd just lean it out and go from there, 11.5 is plenty fat if you're running the power plate to take distribution out of the equation.

mike,i have been running the 411's since 2000 and have never hurt the od gear.the late eric shertz built the trans knowing what i would be doing with it.i'm not saying i won't lean the car out some but i am going to take it one step at a time.i am very happy with the the car going almost 98mph in the 1/8 and mid 118's in the 1/4 at 10.5 afr.i felt the car was real strong on the street but didn't think she would go 11.3 on that afr with that low of boost.also i was running the garret.63 which my previous best with that housing was 11.58 at 115+mph,so i dropped the et over 2 tenths and gained nearly 3mph.

Understand...however turbo's make up for torque too ...reason why most turbo cars stay on the high side with the gears. I just found it odd that you were running 4.11's when so many on here tend to say it's too much gear for a turbo car. Guessing you are running some pretty tall tires as well?

Seems like a different approach but sounds like it's working for you...but I'm guessing you are pretty much maxed out at this point. Nice times though for sure

ever dyno the car ? guessing about 3500+ lbs w/driver...your best pass @ 118.52 mph gives you an estimated 455 WHP. the TA-49 is advertised as a high 11's turbo supporting a max HP of 545 at the crank. Take away about 20% drive loss and you get 436 HP at the wheels then add your 35 shot that's about 471 at the wheels...not too far from the estimated 455 for your 118.52 mph pass. Yeah lean it out a little more and you will pick up a little more but I'd say it's pretty close

scott,i have been 119.48mph at 3732lbs on the 49 no spray pump gas and alky,,which on the calculator say's about 500 to the wheels.i guess they should adjust that max horsepower rating for the 49 i have a stereo system in the trunk with removable custom boxes that is a solid 100lbs which brings the total weight of the car to 3832lbs with me in the car.car is all steel with a set of prostars.i haven't been to the dyno and probably won't go as i am not really into number's.my car is completly a street car, but i really enjoy going down the track
