Will denatured affect aluminum?

I thought I remembered reading about denatured alcohol being corrosive to aluminum. If this is so then how do people run dual line kits with front mounts? I would assume the front mounts have aluminum cores? I ask this because I plan to upgrade to dual lines after getting the bugs worked out of my car and I run a f/m.

If you havent realized, the intake is also aluminum.

Alcohol is only corrossive to metals that are in constant contact with. It is not in contact with the up-pipe until it is sprayed.. and at that point... it flashes and the motor consumes it. Kinda of like brake cleaner.. you spray it, and it evaporates.

Your dual line deal has to do with flow.. do some reading and make your decisions. It may or not be needed depending on your nozzle size and pump used.

Yeah, I knew about the intake pipe and plenum being aluminum. I was wondering about the f/m because even though the pipe/intake/power plate are all aluminum the alky doesn't sit there long enough to corrode it. I assumed people running a f/m and dual lines would run the other line to the tube before the i/c to help cool the charge. This seems to me that alky would be puddling up in the bottom of the i/c after a while and could corrode it. I just wanted to see if anyone had that problem or not.

If you mist alcohol, it shouldnt puddle. The idea is to shoot alcohol as close to the throttle body so its gets into the motor as soon as possible. Time is your enemy, shorten the time, the motor will be happier.
