this is just a thought here, but if both the cylinders, and all the oil and coling ports had orings there would be no need for a gasket at all would there be? thats assuming the block and heads are 100% flat. wouldn't that be the way to go? you should get a little more compression, and all around be better, aside from the price?

and why would they just oring the drivers side?

just wanting to learn someting here..
