How much more "open" can a debate possibly be than a town hall forum? Standing at a podium getting your questions from a reporter doesn't stand up to getting them from any number of average citizens... Citizens who are much more likely to know what's really going on than many, if not most of these "bigtime" reporters, I should add.

McCain was actually smart for wanting to back out of the debate cause he thought he could leverage an opportunity for a photo op and lead the charge for resolve (not).
A photo op? You're kidding, right? He's the Republican candidate for President of the USA... He needs no "photo op" atoll... He IS a photo op... He can hardly wipe is butt without someone standing there to take a picture. He hasn't had any need to wait for President Bush for that, and he'd be crazy to use Bush anyway, if you believe anything the liberal media has been feeding for 6yrs.

He didn't go trying to take charge. He went to make a difference. Conversely, Obama tried, albeit unsuccessfully, to avoid the whole thing by not going to work at all and instead, staying on the campaign trail. One of these two is deseperately trying to remove himself from any/all responsibility.. That one seems to have forgotten he's ALREADY an elected official, being paid tax dollars to DO a job he isn't doing.

Regarding the VP candidates, I could easily ID both their flaws but wont. Regarding Palin, how much more scripted can you be. Everytime she talks it like she's listening to the voice in the headset and repeating whatever they tell her. Her hype is definitely over. Biden, just often puts his own foot in his mouth and has, on several occasions, went againt Obama on issues.
If you really wanna know how much more scripted they can be, just watch Obama. He literally waits till he's told what to say in most cases, which is the main reason he's absurdly bad without a teleprompter infront of him while speaking. Biden is a mistake, looking for a place to fall over... But at least he speaks without being directed or having the words placed just feet from his face. Anyone who's seen any of the 4 speak publicly has already seen the gaffes of Biden AND the studdering of Obama. The only one who has trouble with the prompter is McCain, and he's just bad, period, at giving scripted speeches. Palin doesn't know all the answers and has seen so many "gotcha" questions, you'd think that SHE is running for President, rather than the two men who really are. She's probably the best public speaker of the 4 too, since she makes few mistakes in general, and doesn't waste time trying to remember the wording. I can't even begin to remember all the silly comments we've heard from the others. Obama and Biden are neck and neck for the honor of biggest screw up though... 57/58 states... WTH is that about? And that's just Obama... Biden has made so many it isn't even worthy of further discussion. He's a clown in a business suit. That guy told a paraplegic to stand infront of an audience... Uhh... No...
