35 gallons a WEEK. And 3kw/hr per gallon of electricity. Can't see this thing being very cost effective to run. Not at all considering the $10K cash outlay to get one....

But it is the right idea, I have a 454 Suburban as the familiy truckster, it uses around 40 gallons every 2-3 weeks and my daily driver, a 3800 SC that I use around 35-40 gallons a week on. So I would need 2 machines to cover me or buy gas to supplement....

Making your own stil costs around $100, and you can use wood to heat it, or if you are creative, use the ethanol to heat it, you can make 55 gallons ever few days. But note, it takes a ratio of 10:1 water/ethanol too. And a bushel of corn only makes 5 or so gallons, so you end up being a busy camper.... This claims less water, but I haven't seen hard core data showing it takes less than 10:1.

This link is a turn key operation. I just don't see how they can make it as cheap as they say thay can.
