the removable "collar guards" do not protect the most essential part of the column. Stick with the steadfast collar guard, very very good money spent. I've seen 10 or so columns layed on the floor at an el camino restorer's place, all victims kept their car, but the columns were trashed. Great security. Just watch out for the tow trucks
