If your car is any more than stock the transmission does need attention. You will need boost valves which are always included in a good recalibration kit. You should already have a heat treated sun gear shell if our car is a late 85, 86, or 87. Stator support replacement is a standard procedure if it hasnt been done once already. I would use a wide band in any high performance rebuild. The pump should not be replaced unless it is a problem. Replace the whole assembly if it is. I suggest one from a vendor on this site if you want to be sure your getting a unit that will hold up to your expectations.
