The stall you picked would be a poor match for a cam with good idle characteristics. You could go with a higher duration cam to match the stall, but make sure it has a wide lobe separation to keep overlap to a minimum. Your mph may be down cause of that converter. When you get to about 210 degrees duration, you start losing the smooth idle and high vacuum...well thats about the starting point. But overlap has the most to do with that. Bad thing about reducing overlap by going with wider lobe separation, is that the duration has to go somewhere. Now the intake closes too late after BDC and you bleed off cylinder pressure. Now you have crappy bottom end torque.
You can get some effects of a bigger cam, yet retain a smoother idle by going roller.....since rollers have more radical ramps. The valves spend more time at higher lifts. I would go with a smaller stall (2800-3000) if I were you and go with a roller in the neighborhood of 210 @ .050.
