Well, if I didnt care how presentable I was or what kind of future skin disorders I might get I wouldn't wear gloves either. With the amount of mech work I do thats a real concern.
I've got much bigger things in mind than to waste my hands, health, and appearance on grease monkey work. Besides, I think its more professional to work with them, and all the assorted personal protective equipment, youd laugh if you saw me because when I go to the shop to work on the car i wear the same stuff I wear when im working on aircraft.
Safety boots, coveralls, latex or nitrile gloves, and depending on the task, eye protection.
getting a peice of steel lodged in my cornea anyway (despite wearing eye protection) priceless
let me know I needed to upgrade
