You will NEVER know everything in this industry!! If you get bored with your job, redirect what you want to know. You must keep up to date on things or the good jobs won't come looking for you. Always a challenge. My side jobs pay very well and my current employer is what I wanted for so many years doing the manual labor thing (great health care, 401, vacations and respect for what you know). It was a huge change for me but I would do it again without question. Whatever you choose, watch out for money hungry people who feed off of career changers
