This is a very extensive update, so there is no simple upgrade. You would have to buy the new version.
I moved the main harness connector to the rear, making room for "Knock-Finder" LED's on the front panel, as well as knobs for nitrous retard and rev limit...
I recently updated the Vampire unit, adding a rev limiter. To install, no wires are cut or intercepted. The three "control wires" splice into the factory coil signal wires. I posted a demo video a couple days ago:

I think the misfires were causing engine noise due to uneven firing events. This probably caused engine noise that was interpreted as knock.
I don't see how fresh plugs can clean up real knock.
On another note, I blew myself up on the speedtalk forum yesterday. It's in a thread about changing the rules for the 2014 Engine Masters Challenge.
The rules state that knock sensors are prohibited, so naturally, I suggested allowing them...

On paper it looked so easy, just splice the J&S control wires...
While searching last night, I found a reference that said the thermionic effect was worth about 1kv:

Ignitions with distributor and single coil, as well as coil on plug, all fire with negative high voltage to the plug.
With waste spark ignition, half the plugs fire with negative high voltage, the other half with positive high voltage.
